While visiting 21 Degrees cigar shop to do some work (yeah, that’s what I’m doin’), I purchased a couple favorites, a Perdomo 20th Anniversary Sungrown 60X 6″, and a My Father’s Cigars La Intiguedad, 60X6″.
A handsome chap introduced himself while I was paying for my loot.
“Hi, I’m Kenny. Kenny Won.”
Great to meet you, man.
We traded a bit of chit chat, and he tells me he’s a rep for a cigar manufacturer. I told him I was going to blog about the shop, and he said,
“Oh, you’ve got to try one of the cigars I rep.”
Sure, some time.
“I’ll give you one if you buy one.”
Sure, a two-fer. It doesn’t take much to persuade me.
He takes me back into the humidor and points out the one he recommends, then gives me a sample from his cigar bullet proof brief case.
Is this bribery? Well, maybe, but I won’t turn down a freebie. Grocery stores have long known that the best way to sell a product is to get people to try it. That’s why they offer those samples in the aisles at Costco.
So I put my other favorites in a sealed bag, and get his recommended stick a cut.
Man-o-man! Great flavors, easy draw, and full body. How can you NOT love a cigar named after a mythical beast that drinks the blood of livestock? The literal interpretation is “goat-sucker” named by ranchers for killing their goats.
Kenny, you can’t bribe me with your freebie, but the one I bought has my loyalty. I will definitely be asking for it in the future!
